    Betty in the City

    06 December 2008
With all those skyscrapers continuing to be built through the 1930s, Betty naturally falls victim to the pains of living in a metropolis. Kept awake by construction work, Betty escapes to the countryside. Interestingly she's trying to sleep during the day suggesting she's working through the night (at a nightclub?). She soon finds that the countryside is not the answer to her problems. Betty's frustration in both the city and the country is something we can all relate to, and it is the comic expression of that frustration that is the pleasure of this episode.
