One of the best of the 1940s

The Paramount/Famous animation studio (the former Fleischer studio) made their best cartoons in the 1940s, of which this entry is among them. After about 1951 or 1952, the Famous stuff goes steadily downhill. The quality of this print, apart from the two brief glitches therein, is great and has the original Paramount titles at the beginning and end. In a few years, Herman the Mouse would be teamed with a country-bumpkin feline named Katnip in Paramount's answer (a rather lame one) to M-G-M's Tom & Jerry.
