The company was founded by Michael Comish and Adrian Letts, with financial backing from Arts Alliance, Eden Ventures and Nordic Ventures.

Management team

Michael Comish, CEO and co-founder of blinkbox

Michael helped found one of the pioneers in online video, AtomFilms, where he served as AtomShockwave’s President of international operations across Europe and Asia. AtomShockwave was sold to Viacom for $200m in 2006. Michael’s experience led him to Channel 4 where became the Managing Director of 4 Services; a role which included running New Media, the Studio and Post Businesses, 4 Creative and Corporate Development. The early part of his career was spent at Braxton Associates and later as a partner at Mercer Management Consulting, where he advised media clients in Europe and the US.

Adrian Letts, COO and co-founder of blinkbox

Adrian possesses extensive online experience, particularly within the mobile internet arena, having been one of the first employees of Vodafone’s mobile content business in 2000. Prior to founding blinkbox in 2006, Adrian was head of content services for the Vodafone group, where he oversaw operating groups in over 20 countries and was responsible for all mobile content products including mobile music, video, games and ringtones. As part of Vodafone’s global 3G launch in 2004, he successfully led the team to develop and launch a number of groundbreaking initiatives including the world’s first full track music service and the awarding-winning mobile TV service. The early part of Adrian’s career was spent at JP Morgan as part of their European Mergers and Acquisitions team based in London.

Doug Davis, Acquisitions Director

Doug joined blinkbox from the William Morris Agency. Based in London, he was part of the team that represented leading UK TV producers and distributors in the US marketplace. Doug’s clients included: BBC Worldwide, Channel 4 International, FremantleMedia, TwentyTwenty TV, Mentorn and Zodiak Television. Prior to William Morris, he was the European Sales Director for AtomFilms, responsible for cross platform film sales to broadcast, wireless and online buyers, as well as being involved in acquisitions strategy. Doug is responsible for setting and executing blinkbox’s content acquisitions strategy, managing key partner relationships and bringing additional premium content partners onto the blinkbox service.

Andy Reeves, Chief Technology Officer

A dedicated IT professional, Andy has been leading teams delivering high quality technology solutions for the last 18 years. He has worked with respected solution providers in the finance and entertainment sectors. Prior to joining blinkBox, Andy was the Development Lead for Microsoft TV in EMEA, working for clients such as BT Vision in the UK. Andy’s overall responsibility is for the development, delivery and operations of the blinkbox.com website.

Patrick Sisam, Creative Director

Patrick’s films and TV commercials have screened around the world and won numerous international awards. His most recent film, The Year of Getting to Know Us, stars Sharon Stone, Lucy Liu and Jimmy Fallon and is due for release in 2009. He wrote and directed Drive, the most recent short in the prestigious BMW Film Series, which won gold medals at the World Media Awards and The New York Festivals of Advertising. As a journalist, Patrick has been a regular contributor to Canada’s Globe and Mail and Toro Magazine, as well as the UK’s News of the World. He started his writing career at Saatchi & Saatchi, London.

Kathleen Radford, Product Director

Kathleen has over 10 years experience helping organizations to deliver useful, usable and engaging software solutions. Prior to working at blinkbox she was at Microsoft TV working as the User Experience Lead on the BT Vision platform.

Scott Deutrom, Advertising and Sponsorship Director

Scott joined blinkbox from Vibrant Media where he was European Sales Director leading their digital sales efforts across 5 European markets. Prior to that, Scott spent 9 years at Sky Television in charge of their online sales team generating revenues across their portfolio of 200+ wholly owned and 3rd party sites. He started his career in TV Buying at MediaVest before joining CIA Medianetwork (now MEC) as Director of TV Buying.
