I was always a fan of the American Pie movies. While they lacked little depth, they made up for it in simply being a fun movie. The fourth instilment in the genre offers exactly that. The plot won't go down as one of those all-time greats, but the idea of throwing a Stifler into band camp seems ludicrous, but it works wonderfully and Tad Hilgenbrinck does a great job at being the next generation Stifler. Hilgenbrinck is great at imitating the performances of Sean William Scott, but he adds his own spin on it. Beneath the crudeness that is Stifler he manages to show a softer, more compassionate side and this is what the movie thrives on. Hilgenbrinck steals the show with his charming performance and one really sympathizes with him and one actually wants him to come around and be the nice guy. For the die-hard American Pie fans this should be right up your alley.
