Step Up 2: The Streets

not a masterpiece

I found this film surprisingly decent to watch. I don’t really much care for the acting as I found it clichéd and the story predictable, but somehow found this surprisingly entertaining. For a film that is probably aimed at young teenagers, it does everything that it is suppose to do. The main highlight of this film is the dancing which is outstanding and excellent. You definitely get a feel good vibe from watching it, especially the subway dance at the beginning of the film where each of the dancers posed as members of the public. As for the story, well it’s ok. It’s nothing special and the characters are your typical stereotype personalities that you would come to expect for a film like this. However, the dialogue at times could have been written better as it distracts from the narrative. It’s not a masterpiece but it’s certainly not the worse film you will see.
