Synopsis

Meet Joel Goodsen, an industrious college-bound seventeen-year-old, a responsible and trustworthy son ... Meet Lana, young, hot, exquisite and street-smart.

Joel's (Tom Cruise) two preoccupations in life are: getting into college and having sex--which until now has been just a fantasy. But Joel's parents are going on vacation and leaving him in charge of the house.     It's not hard to see why Tom Cruise went on to become the biggest movie star in the world. Very funny - and surprisingly sexy.

    Classic 80s film

    This is the film that propelled Tom Cruise to stardom. It’d definitely a classic 80’s movie with some fun moments. Tom Cruise will always be remembered for the scene where he is dancing in his underwear and shirt lip synching to rock music and for a teen movie in this generation, this film summed up the decade for movies. The plot can sound contrived and maybe a little daft at times but nevertheless this is entertaining and don’t forget that this was the 80’s where things were often over the top and over dramatised. You only have to see the sex scene between Joel and the call girl when the wind blows open the bedroom doors to know what I’m talking about over-dramatisation. When you compared this film to the other gross out teen comedies like American Pie, you can obviously say that this is one of the subtle ones as to someone just humping a home cooked pie.
