Classic 80s film

This is the film that propelled Tom Cruise to stardom. It’d definitely a classic 80’s movie with some fun moments. Tom Cruise will always be remembered for the scene where he is dancing in his underwear and shirt lip synching to rock music and for a teen movie in this generation, this film summed up the decade for movies. The plot can sound contrived and maybe a little daft at times but nevertheless this is entertaining and don’t forget that this was the 80’s where things were often over the top and over dramatised. You only have to see the sex scene between Joel and the call girl when the wind blows open the bedroom doors to know what I’m talking about over-dramatisation. When you compared this film to the other gross out teen comedies like American Pie, you can obviously say that this is one of the subtle ones as to someone just humping a home cooked pie.
