watchable

Despite the weak points, this film is entertaining. I think this film tries too hard to be like the film The Witches of Eastwick and it suffers in that way. The Witches of Eastwick is simply a classic with its offbeat timing which specifically came from Jack Nicholson whereas Practical Magic is an ok film with its predictable moments. Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman do a solid job as the main characters. Their performances were believable and they hold up the film very well, especially Sandra Bullock who just looks like she was born to play her role. The movie just fails to develop some key points which would have made this film even better. The film does have its charming and fun moments which I think is enough to make this film watchable but plot wise, the script is poor. But all of that gets forgotten by solid character performances and a good direction which helps the film.
