Wesley Snipes stars as a jaded Washington, D.C. homicide detective who, while investigating the murder of a young woman at the White House, becomes snared in a cover-up plot that may reach to the highest level of government.
Murder at 1600 is your typical political thriller with a lot of the action ingredient thrown in. Wesley Snipes stars as Harlan Regis, a detective called in to investigate the murder of a young woman working at the White House. He soon realises that the Secret Service has taken hold of all the evidence for their own investigation, which makes Regis suspicious there might be some kind of cover-up involved. He convinces Secret Service Agent Nina Chance to help him uncover the conspiracy. Despite having a plot that keeps you guessing as to "who did it"), I have a strong feeling that the political aspect of this thriller is just a cover-up for another straight out of Hollywood action movie. It has everything your average action flic has: chases, fights, mediocre dialogue, unrealisitic characters, and an action star.
