Synopsis

Dudley Moore, Julie Andrews and Bo Derek star in this romantic comedy about finding the woman of your dreams.

Successful Hollywood composer George Webber (Moore) has everything--money, a beautiful house and a talented, sexy girlfriend--but as he turns 42, he spends his time watching beautiful young women and rating each of them on a scale of 1 to 10. His standards are tough--the Venus de Milo, would only rate a seven.

And then George sees a 10. Possessed by her beauty, he will stop at nothing to have her, even though she is on her honeymoon. George's wild quest leads him to a psychiatrist's couch, an afternoon of agony in a dentist's chair and a romantic tropical resort.

Great example of 1970s cinema

Blake Edwards' '10' is a film about George Webber, Dudley Moore’s character’s mid-life crisis, finding Bo Derek (this film catapulted her to international stardom) a beautiful escape to his problems – Much to the disapproval of hid wife Sam (Julie Andrews). This kitsch 1970s comedy remains funny today, providing well written popular slapstick comedy.
Whilst there is embarrassing hilarity throughout, the highlight of this film is not really the story, but more the individual performances. Amongst excellent pianist solos, we see great performances from Moore and Andrews – and of course Bo Derek looks beautiful.
This isn’t one of the greatest films you’ll ever see and despite some good comedy one might suggest that it is a little outdated. However, there are golden moments from the cast and classic quirky scenes throughout which make this film a great example of 1970s cinema.
