The Adventures of Robin Hood

Definitely worth seeing

This is without a shadow of a doubt the best version of Robin Hood. The Kevin Costner version doesn’t even come close, even with that overplayed song by Bryan Adams. But seriously this is how Robin Hood should be – fun, exciting, merry and just generally a cool, magical movie. Errol Flynn is just perfect as Robin Hood. He is funny, witty, charming and most importantly charismatic which is why you fall in love with his performance. Also his swashbuckling antics are a treat too. Basil Rathbone (aka the best Sherlock Holmes you will ever see on screen) is also brilliant as Guy of Gisbourne who matches Robin as a worthy opponent and rival. No CGI or anything, the stunts are as real as they come by with the actors in good physical condition. The film is blessed with bright colours and huge set designs which make the whole viewing experience magical and enchanting. Go and see it.
