This is a good film, however, this was the start of the Police Academy decline. The jokes got a bit stupid and wore a little thin at times. You could tell that this franchise was running out of steam and unfortunately they started to make one too many. The two biggest influences in the film series of Mahoney and Zed had left and it’s left to the rest of the cast to fill their shoes. Mahoney’s shoes get filled with an annoying guy called Nick Lassard, a relation to Eric Lassard. He simply doesn’t have what Guttenburg brought to the series as Mahoney. The plot is dumb and the bad guys are so stereotypically bad that they wouldn’t even get close for an audition for the Sopranos. Nevertheless, with all the negatives out of the way, still watch this film – just loose every sense of logic you may have and just appreciate it for what it is, because after this, the series goes downhill.
