Synopsis

Christian Bale delivers one of cinema's most sacrificial performances in Brad Anderson's mesmerising thriller. Written by Scott Kosar (2003's THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE), THE MACHINIST takes place in a bleak and nondescript American city, where Trevor Reznick (Bale) is quite literally withering away to nothing. During the day Trevor works in a colourless industrial factory, while at night he seeks refuge in the bed of a tender prostitute, Stevie (Jennifer Jason Leigh).

    Good film, mr bale just knocks it all together....great acting..you just watch, wondering
    where its all going, without ever getting distracted.

    Slightly confused how Bale managed to become that skinny without simply dying... but that aside, it was a convincing performance of a great script. If it's not on your list of ones to watch, it should be.

    The Machinist is an unerring and intense mystery thriller starring Christian Bale as you have never seen him before. Bale plays insomniac Trevor Reznik, a painfully thin anorexic machine operator who hasn’t slept in a year. Bizarre things are happening to him at home and at the workplace but he doesn’t know if he is going insane or if there is a conspiracy against him. We delve into his personal hell and his struggle to piece the clues together in order to shed some light on his pyschological state. A deeply dark and disturbing movie.
