Synopsis
In this sequel to the 1984 film, the young hero, Bastian, returns to the magical land Fantasia, attempts to slay the evils that threaten the extinction of goodness, and finds a special brand of courage within himself ... a reminder of the eternal, optimistic child within us all.
I never really thought anything could follow ‘The Never Ending Story’ as it is such a classic film, however there was obviously a lot of potential as this sequel is a great well crafted follow up. It is once more based upon Michael Ende’s tale. The music score by Robert Folk only serves to enhance this excellent film further as it is utterly beautiful. The problem a few people had was that the characters didn’t look any thing like the original cast, however if it is a cast of good actors I don’t feel that this jeopardises the adaptation, I would say however, that in the Neverending story trilogy and animated series this is where to stop watching as the first and second film are the best ones.
