Synopsis

Sylvester Stallone and Antonio Banderas star as professional killers, for whom it is survival of the ruthless. And the only retirement is in a body bag - Assassins.

Robert Rath is the best in the business, but he wants out. New competition Miguel Bain aims to do the one thing that will clinch the job: murder Rath. And Rath must dodge an assassin's bullets while hunting his current target, a beautiful electronic surveillance expert, who may be his most dangerous assignment ever.     Strangely Lifeless film

    Written by the now world famous Wachowski brothers the plot could have been interesting. However the rivalry between the old and new assassins is wasted and we are left with big dumb action scenes to fill the void. However these are not great – all over the top and lacking any form of logic at all. It's a shame because you can see how the scenes between the two men could have been better and you wonder what the Wachowski brothers could have done with this with different actors. Stallone is a rock. Literally he is made of stone here and I never got a feel for his character. On the opposite end of the scale, Banderas seems to be in a different movie and hams it up wildly – although at least he's lively. Moore is a great actress but you wouldn't know it from this – she's got nothing to do and her boredom shows. Overall this has bangs and booms if that's all you want.
