Sean Connery stars as a retired Harvard law professor who strives to prove the innocence of a young black man sentenced to death in Florida in this hard-edged, complex legal thriller.
Just Cause is a decent movie with a good supporting cast of Sean Connery, Laurence Fishburne, Ed Harris and Kate Capshaw. The first half of the film, it is engaging and interesting as you are drawn into the mystery. However, in the second half of the film when the plot twist arrives, the plot holes and inconsistencies are revealed and everything else becomes horribly predictable. It just seems to be a little far-fetched to believe it and instead of the audience being totally surprised by the plot twist, you were expecting it anyway and were just waiting for it to happen. Even though the cast give good performances, especially Sean Connery, the overall plot was just mishandled, especially the ludicrous ending. If you are a Sean Connery fan, then I would happily recommend this film to you but I think there are better mystery thrillers out there.
Not too bad
