fake breasts and little else

Apparently this was meant to be a comedy. It's a pity nobody told Demi Moore, who was paid a record $12million to do little more than repeatedly take her clothes off over the course of 90 minutes. Moore attempts to earnestly portray a single mom forced into stripping to pay for the upbringing of her child. Unfortunately she seems to be in a different film entirely from her co-stars - all of whom seem outdo one another in the overacting department. It's probable that Moore is far more unintentionally hilarious than she ever could have been if she'd been trying to make us laugh. Burt Reynold could be said to steal every scene he's in, if much work had been done to create believable scenes to steal in the first place. OK, so it's not as bad as 'Showgirls' but at least that other tale of 'stripping against the odds' falls into the so-bad-it's-good category. Striptease is just tedious.
