Better as a singer

If I had to be honest, Elvis was a better singer than actor and Jailhouse Rock proves my point. This film
can be enjoyable but it is so corny, it is something you can’t really ignore. Elvis’s acting lacks personality,
charm and he comes across as wooden. He just lacks the on screen presence to carry a film. It’s like he
tries to be a James Dean figure but just fails miserably. Besides the title song the rest of the film is
disappointedly filled with ballads although it is Elvis’s singing which helps the film. Another thing what I
found unbelievable is that the inmates in the jail are probably the nicest, clean cut people you will ever
see on the planet with the prison warden the only nasty person. The plot is weak and it really doesn’t
hold up to repeated viewings. Fans of Elvis will say this was his best performance and its only fans of
Elvis in which I recommend this fi
