The problem with this film is that it is a victim of one too many sequels and watching this film, you will instantly get that. The jokes are so thin that it can’t sustain a scene and even though Police Academy is suppose to be a slapstick spoof, I found the plot rather weak. This is without any doubt the weakest and poorest out of the Police Academy series. One of the greatest shames is that certain characters that were so integral to the whole series are missing with only the few recognizable only returning like motor mouth Jones and Commandant Eric Lassard. But the new recruits, let’s face it – I couldn’t really give a toss about them. They are simply boring and unimaginative and just not up to the standard already set from the previous movies. Being a fan of the series, this was painful to watch. Watch the old ones from the series for nostalgia otherwise stay clear of this one.
