Synopsis

Keanu Reeves and Charlize Theron light up the screen with megawatt charm in this bittersweet romantic comedy.

Nelson Moss needs help - he just doesn't know it. But when the self-absorbed, emotionally isolated advertising executive meets Sara Deever, his single-minded professional drive gets detoured by her lust for life. Sara invites him into her world - but only for the month of November; however, neither expects to fall in love. Well, the views of San Francisco are certainly nice. And that's about it. Honestly, Keanu Reeves and Charlize Theron are two actors who, generally-speaking, I like, but there's very little they can do with this formulaic-as-it-gets 'romantic' drama. I don't know what (if anything) passes for emotion in the marketing heads of Hollywood but I certainly can't relate to any of the sickly, glossy saccharine overdoses that passes for the 'romantic' films that get churned out every year. In another depressingly familiar piece of miscasting Reeves plays a heard-nosed ruthless ad-executive, which in one scene finds him talking to a hot dog. No, really, a hot dog. To be honest, after 'Bill and Ted' Keanu can do no wrong in my eyes, but he really could do with more films like 'A Scanner Darkly' and less like this.
