Synopsis

While some may raise an eyebrow when they discover that Jenny McCarthy wrote the script for DIRTY LOVE, it shouldn't come as too much of a surprise: McCarthy has already established herself as a writer, has never been afraid to laugh at herself, and has further screenplays in the works. The curvaceous former model proved her comedic chops as host of MTV's SINGLED OUT, and serves up further laughs in this addition to the gross-out comedy genre, which was directed by her husband, John Mallory Asher (although McCarthy filed for divorce from Asher shortly before DIRTY LOVE's theatrical debut). DIRTY LOVE is a piece of lowbrow filmmaking that is unashamedly trashy, and owes a sizeable debt to the ribald comedy of Benny Hill and the Pope of Trash himself, John Waters.

I wa snot able to watch this video! it was all shaking the fotage and i couldn't watch it for no reason. First video to fail for me.:((

Surprising comedy

Jenny McCarthy has come to be loathed in the U.S. Over there she has a far higher TV profile than in the U.K., where she is only seen now and then in big, dumb movies. Here she stars in Dirty Love from her own screenplay, a movie universally reviled by viewers overseas. But in many ways this is a far funnier and bolder comedy than many that come out of Hollywood. There are scenes in here that would never appear in larger releases, such as a bloody time-of-the-month set-piece in a supermarket, or a strange man's obsession with bass. McCarthy's performance touches on Jerry Lewis, with comic facial distortions and fearless humiliation. This is bad taste comedy from a female perspective, a rare thing in Hollywood, and is ultimately admirable for its do-anything-for-a-laugh spirit.
