Liu Jian, an intelligence officer working in Paris finds his life in peril as he drawn into an international conspiracy. He is forced to rely on his exceptional martial arts skill to keep him from danger.
The openings credits proclaim that Kiss of the Dragon is based on a story by Jet Li himself. What it doesn't explain is why he would want to be credited for a plot that is exactly the same as thousands of other martial arts films (revenge, corrupt police, etc etc). Having said that, the plot is almost impossible to understand on a literal level (the character's motives are never really explained) but if you just sit back and watch it as your stock 'good guys vs. bad guys hitting each other movie' then it does what it's meant to. The main failing - as with almost every Jet Li film it seems - is that despite the star being unarguably talented you rarely get to see him properly in action as the camera work is far too flashy.
