This is thought-provoking yet flawed sci-fi film. What make it fascinating are the attempts to make this post apocalyptic world. For the first hour of the film, the scenes are breathtaking and captivating, seeing Heston driving around in his car searching for food. The second half of the film, the plot suddenly goes downhill with some bizarre camera movements when you just need to shot to be steady. Nevertheless, The Omega Man is still worth the watch. Charlton Heston gives an outstanding performance and I like how the movie tries to show that Heston’s character is like the “real” mutant in the film. The film has a decent ending and it is slow moving in parts but there is enough in this sci-fi film which will keep you intrigued.
