Synopsis
Patrick Swayze plays a ghost who teams with a psychic (Whoopi Goldberg) to uncover the truth behind his murder - and to rescue his sweetheart (Demi Moore) from a similar fate.
This is simply a good movie with good performances from Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg. Swayze plays Sam who gets murdered after a mugging which was no accident. He remains on Earth as a ghost to find his killer and maintain contact with his girlfriend via a psychic. This is a classic love story with a hint of everything that you will definitely enjoy. The chemistry between Swayze and Moore is real and believable as the happy couple whose lives are torn by Sam’s murder. But for me, the standout performance comes from Whoopi Goldberg as the psychic Oda Mae Brown as she clearly deserves her Oscar for this role. She adds the light-hearted moments in this film which at times can be dark and terrifying. The effects itself are terrifying to watch, even for a romantic story like this but this is no ordinary romantic story and that is why it works so well.
