The Roost is about vampire bats that take over a farm and a bunch of teenagers over a single night. The bats are few but very smart and they seem to get past all the flailing arms and such. Their bite turns the people into blood thirsty zombie vampires who then attack more people who then attack more people. The director spent a great deal of time setting up each scene using various camera angles almost seemed like he was trying to imitate Hitchcock. More reminiscent of Friday the 13th though, as the angles allowed you to anticipate where the surprise was going to originate. They added a host for the movie that made it seem more like a late fright night TV show.
