Synopsis

This modern re-telling of the classic tale sees a group of medical stuents experimenting with the chemical make-up of ecstasy.

Their aim is nothing more than an adolescent attempt to create a drug that will adapt and enhance their personalities and in doing so make them the popular and successful people that they crave to be.

With no choice but to test the drug on themselves they quickly uncover a new and horrific side to their personalities.

The question is, can they control their creation, or will the drug destroy them from within? Prepare yourself for a double-dose of chemically imbalanced terror! Features music from Kasabian and Tom McRae.

    Jekyll-Hyde could not have made it with out the great acting from the characters in the film. Where and when ever do you get to rehearse these scenes in life. It’s a dangerously realistic tale of what could happen form experimenting on your self or friends. You cannot believe the reality of the situation this group from med school wind up in. J’s teacher suspects that the group have been experimenting.

    J wind up one morning to discover something happened in his house that he can’t remember doing the night before. His girl he is in love with walks into his house as he is just in realization of the situation. He loved her so much that he could not bear to let her find out who is with him. He winds up stuck in a serious position where he is then at the point of no return. Its a Physiological thriller displaying how these experiments have driven J into a totally different person. do things he may not have done without them.

    Jekyll is alive and well and is studying medicine in the States. He is a nerdy character who experiments in illegal substances that might enhance his self esteem and, mayhap, "improve mankind". But before this lame nonsense is explained to us, we are at least treated to a prologue with some sense of dread and mystery. Then it all goes downhill.

    This lumbering adaptation of Stevenson's classic tale of human duality lacks everything that might make it worth any viewer's while, I'm sorry to report. Insofar it's been "modernized", it has been so in such a simplistic manner that the original seems more ... modern, if you will. The elements of horror have all the stupidity of a Friday 13 movie, but virtually none of the shlocky effects that might entertain some (even me, on some days). This movie offers nothing new and the old stuff is presented in a week and confused manner.
