Synopsis

A secret service agent, Jennifer Marsh, gets caught in a very personal and deadly cat-and-mouse game with a serial killer who knows that people (being what they are - both curious and drawn to the dark side of things) will log onto an "untraceable" website where he conducts violent and painful murders LIVE on the net. Missed a trick or two...

    19 January 2009
The idea is a good one, and very relevant; however, I think an opportunity to turn this into thrilling psychological thriller was missed (think Hannibal), and the end result is a half decent gore film (along the lines of Saw). Had they included some twists and turns, perhaps not gone after a predictable string of victims, the film could have been a lot better. Still, it covers a very pertinent subject on the social distortions occurring on today's Internet.

    ok, but crap ending

    06 December 2008
Untraceable is a decent thriller movie and at times the films is very gripping to watch. However, in terms of satisfaction, this film is disappointing. You should only watch this film for Diane Lane’s performance but the rest of the cast just feel one-dimensional and clichéd when they were conducting the investigation to catch a cyber-killer. The biggest problem I have with this film is originality as fans of the TV show Millennium would know that they did a similar episode circa 1996 (“The Mikado” – Season 2) which was far more convincing than this film. I couldn’t help but feel at times that the makers needed to grab the audience’s attention with unnecessary amounts of gore and pain in the way people died, similar of films like Saw. It’s well made and predictably solid but the ending was crap. This is more of a rental film rather than a film you must have in your collection.
