Paper-thin rom-com

One of the many key problems with this film is Ryan Reynolds himself. Although the film is about time and experience, Reynolds never seems to change. He is the same when he's younger, older, happy, depressed. But the 'complex' relationships he has with three different women is such a complete fantasy that the film actually becomes hugely dishonest about how interactions between adults actually work. These are adults acting like teenagers, whining about insignificant problems and making a big deal out of nothing. Indeed, it's target audience is young teenagers but the film merely ends up perpetuating myths about women (these three are all ideals), romance and the coming of age in general.
