Synopsis

Brad Pitt and Academy Award winner Cate Blanchett star in F. Scott Fitzgerald's story of the life and loves of a man experiencing his life backwards -- The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button.

Director David Fincher (Zodiac, Seven) brings this remarkable tale to the screen. Benjamin Button (Pitt--Troy), is born as an 80-year-old man in New Orleans just after World War I and proceeds to grow younger as time passes. Button, who like any other man is unable to stop time, experiences life and his love for Daisy (Blanchett--The Aviator) oddly out of synch with the rest of humanity in this time traveler's tale of the people and places Benjamin Button encounters, the loves he loses and finds, the joys of life and the sadness of death, and what lasts beyond time.

  1. Time heals all wounds

I kinda of liked this film the first time I saw it but, then, found my myself thinking about it more and more as time passed. It's actually quite haunting. Brad Pitt does just enough and Cate B a little too much.
  2. Good story, but 2hr 20min!?!

Great and convincing performances from Brad Pitt and Cate Blachett, in an emotive, and somewhat sad love story of a man who is ageing backwards and a family friend who is ageing normally. The only thing that tainted it for me was the way the plot slowed a little too much in the middle, and interest in the characters began to wane. Fortunately, the pace picks up again, and the end is worth waiting for. Perhaps they could have cut a few scenes and kept the pace throughout, but a good film nonetheless.
