This is a wonderful film. Kevin Spacey is terrific as a middle aged man who is almost invisible at work and even at home where he lives with his wife and daughter who both resent him. Annette Bening (Spacey's wife) is brilliant as a loud, success hungary estate agent who has many hidden issues as has his daughter (Thora Birch) who finds her father disgusting and a loser.

This film is so well acted it's superb and the change in Spacey's character as the film ticks along is priceless and inspiring as he decide's enough is enough and he is going to enjoy every second of his life on this earth. Every character in this film has a strong story that is not easily seen at first hence why 'look closer' is the phrase used on it's front cover. The ending is wonderful and shocking and does it's job because i'll guarantee it will make you think about life as you know it a little diffrently afterwards. Watch it.

Sam Mendes did a really great job and Kevin Spacey was working his butt off. His performance came over as sincere and in many ways uplifting. It is not about sex per se, although there some intimate moments - but it has great style and hold your interest til the end. I realise it is one of my favourites from way back.
