Synopsis

At the Forest Ridge Mall, head of security Ronnie Barnhardt patrols his jurisdiction with an iron fist, combating skateboarders, shoplifters and the occasional unruly customer while dreaming of the day when he can swap his flashlight for a badge and a gun. That day comes when the mall is struck by a flasher ... and Ronnie Barnhardt chooses to do more on the job than just Observe and Report.

Seth Rogan (Superbad, Pineapple Express) stars as Barnhardt, whose delusions of grandeur drive him to showcase his underappreciated law enforcement talents, hoping to nab the flasher and win the heart of his elusive dream girl, Brandi (Anna Faris--Mama's Boy), the hot makeup-counter girl. However, Barnhardt's actions launch a turf war with equally competitive Detective Harrison (Ray Liotta--Goodfellas, "Smith") of the local police department. Now, Barnhardt must not only catch the flasher, but he must do it before the real police can in this ribald comedy.

  1. Battle of the mall cops

    22 December 2009
Black comedy that struggled on release, partly due to the similar but less dark Paul Blart: Mall Cop being released just prior and to huge success. I looked forward to this movie as I am a fan of Jody Hill's previous effort The Foot Fist Way and while it doesnt match up to that there are still some great scenes and it was also interesting to see Seth Rogen make a departure from the lovable slacker character he seems to have made his own over the past few years. Not nearly as funny as it could or perhaps should have been but still a hell of a lot better than Paul Blart.
  2. Diamond in the rough

    26 October 2009
This movie didn't do so well at the box office but it is totally worth checking out. It's dark, subversive and really funny. Anna Faris steals the show as Brandy the mall babe.
