Synopsis

Jim Carrey stars with Bradley Cooper, Zooey Deschanel and Molly Sims in the true story of a man who goes an entire year without uttering the word "no," a normal, everyday citizen who, with a single word becomes a most extraordinary Yes Man.

Freelance BBC radio producer Danny Wallace (Carrey--The Majestic) takes three simple words uttered by a stranger on a bus-"say yes more"-as a challenge and says "yes" to everything for a year. He says "yes" to pamphleteers on the street, the credit card offers stuffing his mailbox and solicitations on the Internet. He attends meetings with a group that believes aliens built the pyramids in Egypt, says "yes" to every invitation to go out on the town and furthers his career by saying "yes" in meetings with executives. And, yes, he does win $48,000, meet the world's only hypnotic do, earn a nursing degree and travel the globe. It may be stranger than fiction, but every hilarious moment is true! IN CINEMAS EARLY 2009.

The best in a long while

Back in the day you could not get any good films. But "Yes Man" has changed that. It is a great film and is 100 million times better then any Harry Potter Film.

Yes Man is not so bad...

Tried and tested formula – but hey ho it works. Terence Stamp as the cantankerous self-help guru is the highlight but Jim Carey is also back in form with one of his best performances since Liar Liar.

    Pretty good fun

Yes Man follows a basic comedy structure that we've seen an endless amount of times in the past few years. The main character has a big problem, the problem's solved and happy times are had. Then another problem arises as a result of the solution to the original problem. So everyone is sad. Then that problem is solved and everyone lives happily ever after. Plus there's a message about how to live your life sprinkled in there. For every single comedy in the past few years with that structure, I've gotten so bored by the time it's over because I just lose interest when the drama comes actually happens. I either don't care about the characters or I don't care about the message. Every comedy except for this one. Not only did I care about the characters a load (thanks mostly to the performances from Jim Carrey and Zooey Deschanel who put free-spirited romance at the core of this typical comedy) that I was emotionally iinfluenced during that predictable turn for the worse near the end. The message of the film was actually something that I found able to relate to my own life which is something I've never experience during these kind of comedies. I was definitely more invested in this film than I have been with other comedies of the same vein.
