Good fun 'easy watching' teen comedy

Amercian Pie is so old now, and the teen flick market moves on so quickly, that there always needs to be a steady stream of these movies to entertain the next-generation. I found Sex Drive predictable in places, but I'm at the upper end of the target age group. I laughed a lot, there was plenty of new material in there, and whilst the outcome was a foregone conclusion, it was good fun. If you're between the ages of 15 and 25, you're going to love it :)

A poor man's American Pie

The first ten minutes make it clear that this film wants to be American Pie. Masturbating into a sock, parents coming in... haven't we seen this somewhere before? It was funny ten years ago but now this joke just seems tired and old. Unfortunately the first ten minutes are probably the funniest of the film, and after that the laughs are few and far between. Which means all you're left with is a horribly predictable "will they or won't they" storyline between the main couple, dragging relentlessly towards the inevitable moment where they do. If you really want to watch an angsty teen road-trip movie then do yourself a favour and watch Road Trip instead.

  You forget there are a load of people who were too young to watch these films 10 years ago. American Pie is beginning to look dated, and there's plenty of new material in Sex Drive for it not to be a carbon-copy remake.

Definitely made me laugh out loud. If you want some American Pie humour this is worth it.
