Synopsis

In the second of the blockbuster Batman films, the physically deformed criminal genius The Penguin threatens Gotham City and, helpless, the entire city can only pray that Batman Returns.

Only Batman (Michael Keaton) can defend the city from total chaos as The Penguin (Danny DeVito) lays twisted waste to a great metropolis. Meanwhile, the Dark Knight may have met his equal in the lethally lithe Catwoman (Michelle Pfeiffer) only he doesn't know if she is feline friend ... or foe.

    Continuing in the dark, sinister style of the original film, Batman Returns sees director Tim Burton at his twisted best. Christopher Walken and Danny Devito team up as bad guys Max Shreck and The Penguin respectively, and weave their weird and wicked schemes around those of Catwoman, who leaves Bruce Wayne confused and lovestruck as her alter-ego Selina Kyle. The sets, storyline, gadgets, actors and director all combine to create an atmospheric and stylish sequel, criticized on release for marketing aimed at children. Fair enough - it's way too good for kids.
