Synopsis

Cary Grant stars as an innocent man mistaken for a spy in one of director Alfred Hitchcock's greatest thrillers.

While leaving New York's Plaza Hotel, advertising executive Roger Thornhill (Grant) has the misfortune of standing just as the name "George Kaplan" is paged starting a lethal case of mistaken identity and a nonstop game of cat and mouse as he is pursued across North America by espionage agents trying to kill him and by police who suspect him of murder.

    Hitchcock doesn’t get much better than this….

    North by Northwest is viewed by many as a classic and this title is deserved without a doubt. A case of mistaken identity sees the unfortunate Roger Thornhill - an innocent businessman, hunted and chased across America by both the police and by members of a gang who believe he is a secret agent. North by Northwest has paved the way for countless other thrillers, and remains a powerful and gripping film which is as entertaining now as it was more than fifty years ago. One of Hitchcock's finest, North By Northwest fuses action, suspense and comedy to create a film which cannot fail to engage the viewer. Cary Grant's performance is pretty near to perfection, delivering his lines in a suitably suave manner, and the film itself keeps you on your toes at all times.
