Synopsis

Having the genius that is Gene Wilder live in a world made of chocolate surrounded by tiny singing folk called Oompa Loompas can only result in one thing - a hugely entertaining and successful film. This adaptation of Roald Dahl’s children’s book is one of the most memorable films of all time. There are very few people who do not know the story of young Charlie Bucket as he wins the chance to be one of 5 people to enter the never-seen-before magical world of Mr Wonka’s chocolate factory. Every scene in the film is beautifully constructed bursting with colour and imagination. The amusing nature of the music and the visually stunning backgrounds make these moments fly by. ‘Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory’ is pure fun from start to finish. Considering it was made over 30 years ago, it shows just what a cinematic gem this really is. The old ones are always the best, aren’t they?
