Sophia Loren stars as a woman who trades her married boyfriend for an equally unattainable new man--a Catholic priest--in The Priest's Wife.

After discovering her boyfriend for the past four years is married, a distraught and depressed Valeria (Sophia Loren) turns to don Mario (Marcello Mastroianni), a Catholic priest, for counseling --and ultimately true love. Now the inseparable couple must rely on the Vatican for a solution to their dilemma.

Will the Vatican allow don Mario to marry Valeria? Or will he be forced to choose between the church and the woman he loves? Set in Italy and produced by Carlo Ponti (Dr. Zhivago), this tangled tale of forbidden love proves people are bound to talk when you're The Priest's Wife.
