Synopsis

Agnes MacDonnell (Greta Scacchi), a strong and self-confident Englishwoman in her forties, owns a large estate on an island off the coast of Northern Ireland. When she begins a passionate but dangerous affair with twenty-something James Lynchehaun (Daniel Craig), her new estate manager, Agnes wages a desperate and humorous struggle to dominate this charismatic but destructive man.     Fell in love with this film as soon as I saw it, because I have visited the beautiful Achill Island which features in this movie, and visited the locations mentioned. I even had bed and breakfast in the property which was used by the doctor and even the cell where the offender was kept. The story is based on fact and is constantly told on Achill.
