Synopsis

Michael J. Fox stars as young, brash and brilliant Dr. Benjamin Stone, who completes his residency at a gritty Washington D.C. hospital and heads out on a road trip to California for fun, sun and lots of money as a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon - Doc Hollywood.

But his plan turns to chaos when Dr. Stone takes an unforeseen, unwanted and unexpectedly long detour in Grady, South Carolina. Then the young doctor meets a beautiful ambulance driver who makes him forget Beverly Hills in this romantic comedy about finding love where you least expect it.

    Mixing romance and comedy, Doc Hollywood is a delightful film featuring Michael J Fox as Dr. Benjamin Stone, a plastic surgeon who crashes his car in a small town and ends up staying longer than he intended. Michael J Fox is very watchable as the young doctor and is supported by entertaining performances by his co-stars. The romance is predictable enough but that doesn't detract from the fact that overall, Doc Hollywood is an enjoyable comedy with plenty of laughs. For a bit of light relief you can't really go wrong with Doc Hollywood, particularly when the characters are this likeable.
