Synopsis

From the creator of The Sixth Sense, Signs and The Village comes this eerie tale of modest apartment building manager Cleveland Howard (Paul Giamatti - The Ant Bully, Sideways) and the mysterious, beautiful young woman named Story (Bryce Dallas Howard - The Village) whom he rescues. But when Cleveland and the tenants of his building discover that this fragile, ethereal woman is being pursued by deadly creatures as she tries to return to the realm of literary imagination to which she belongs, they begin to realize that their "real" world may not be as real as they believe.

Lady in the Water - A bedtime story for grown-ups

A fantasy tale which didn't need sex and violence to deliver. I found it to be imaginative, original and tasteful. I was impressed and would definately recommend it.

Night directed some great movies (I,e The last Airbender) But, other movies he directed (Devil, Lady in the water) Were just TERRIBLE!
Don't get anything this guy get's anymore! His good directing is gone! Bit the dust, kicked the bucket, moved on, in a better place!

do not be fooled by the trailer into thinking this is a good movies because it isn't! waste ur money on something more worthwhile!!!!

Lady in the Water centres around superintendent Cleveland Heep, who finds a water nymph named Story in his pool. Can he save her and help her bring her message to the world? Well, you have to hand it to Lady in the Water, it is at the very least more original than most other Hollywood films. Giacometti puts in a decent performance as Heep which is probably the most likeable thing about the film. Besides that, Lady in the Water is a big disappointment. It’s dull to watch, and worse still pretty irritating. There’s not really much explanation behind the plot, which causes a fair deal of confusion and makes it easy to lose interest. You can’t help thinking that maybe Shyamalan would have done better to listen to some of the criticisms. As it is, Lady in the Water is overly indulgent and lacks character.
