Synopsis

It's Harry Potter's fourth term at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry!

Harry, Ron and Hermione look forward to the international Quidditch finals. Harry dreams of spending time with the alluring Cho Chang. He wants to be a normal 14-year-old wizard . . . But Harry is not normal--even by wizarding standards.

This term, for the first time in hundreds of years, a competition will be held between three schools of wizardry, and contestants will be magically chosen for the very dangerous event. Now, as Harry's lightning scar burns, indicating the evil presence of Lord Voldemort, the Goblet of Fire makes its final selection for the competition - Harry Potter.

  1. Best Harry Potter yet

    12 August 2009
I think this is the pinnacle of the series so far, dark yet easy to consume. I must admit that it is a close contest between the Order of the Phoenix, but I have to give Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire the crown as it comes such a long way from the previous one.
  2. Getting better with every film

    13 July 2009
Finally we start to see a bit of acting from the three leads and this film really starts to capture the magic of the books for the older audience that first loved the books but is now growing up...! Also a great starting place for getting mates to like the movies. If you start them on the first three i don't think they'll stick with them. Good pace, length and one to watch.
  3. fourth year at hogwarts…

    06 December 2008
The fourth film in the Harry Potter series created by J.K Rowling, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is a darker and more intense treatment of the books. Upon returning to Hogwart's Harry find himself entered in to the Triwizard Tournament, and must not only worry about the tasks set but also the coming rise of the evil Voldemort and his followers. Daniel Radcliffe puts in a more confident performance as Harry and the scripting allows him to nicely navigate the problems of growing up. Unlike the first two films which glossed over much of the book's unsettling content, The Goblet of Fire seems more willing to tackle the good vs. evil contest in a more ambitious way. The effects alone are sure to keep you entertained and the film benefits from chopping out unnecessary bits to leave a bolder version of events.
