Classic drama written and directed by Nicholas Ray, and starring the infamous James Dean. In the film that made him a screen icon, Dean plays Jim Stark, a rebellious and troubled teenager who moves town and must prove himself to fit in. Rebel Without a Cause was a trailblazer and it's easy to see why. Dean puts in an amazing performance full of power and charisma, and is supported by some brilliant acting by the rest of the cast. The film cannot help but grab your attention, as it has a heavy emotional impact, and there are some great action sequences too. On the downside, Rebel Without a Cause hasn't aged particularly well, but once you get past that, the film is every bit as good as it's said to be.
