A movie that everyone needs to see

To be talking about a film 60 years after its release is quite remarkable. This just shows what an impact ‘Casablanca’ has had on cinema. A romantic tale unlike any other, ‘Casablanca’ tells the tale of cynical bar owner Rick Blaine (Humphrey Bogart). Blaine morbidly struggles through life taking in and helping illegal refuges until a chance meeting shocks him to the core. Out of the blue, an ex-lover who broke his heart arrives in Casablanca seeking his help – a reunion that will change his life forever. ‘Casablanca’ is so much more than just a love story. The plot is intriguing and keeps you on your toes all the way through and Bogart’s performance is one of the great performances. This is a movie that everyone needs to see – even if it is only to save you from embarrassment when someone asks you (and they will) what you thought of it.
