Synopsis
THE END is a fascinating documentary from first-time filmmaker Nicola Collins, exploring a subject close to her heart, the gangsters of London's East End. Collins herself is daughter to one contributor, Les Falco, providing her with the inside scoop and inherited trust of Falco's criminal circle. Shooting these larger than life characters up close in stylish black-and-white, Collins dispenses with loaded questions and narration, and lets the men's candid stories speak for themselves. The result is a shocking, brutal, yet somehow endearing and darkly comical profile of an underworld few get to experience... and even fewer live at liberty to tell the tale.
