The Owls and Hooters

In February 2009 filmmaker Janus Metz accompanies a group of soldiers on their first tour of duty at Armadillo, an army base in the Southern Afghan province of Helmand. For six months Metz follows the lives of the young recruits in this excellent, award-winning film.
On completion it provoked furious debate concerning the controversial behaviour of certain soldiers during the real life shoot-out against the Taliban. Gripping, thought-provoking and visceral, this is as close as you get to battle action from the edge of your seat.
