    a not-so-happy marriage…

    06 December 2008
Adapted form Edward Albee's award winning play, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? is an explosive film that deals with the pent-up tensions of a middle-aged married couple. Full-on verbal warfare is unleashed when a young couple have late night drinks with Martha and George, an abusive pair who sole delight seems to be in tormenting each other. Like a walking advert for divorce, the characters of Martha and George are brilliantly played in all their bitter glory, as they brutally tear each other apart, much to the delight and horror of the viewer. The film proves that a successful transfer from play to film is achievable, as 'Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf' captures the full tension of the theatre production, and loses none of its spark. Really entertaining and engaging, the film makes for a pretty fascinating watch all in all.
