Synopsis

Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves reunite to star in this romantic tale of two people who find a love strong enough to span the years separating the couple living in The Lake House.

As lonely Dr. Kate Forster (Bullock - Crash) exchanges letters with architect Alex Wyler (Reeves - Matrix films), a correspondence grows into love, but the two realize that they are living in the same house two years apart. To be together, they must unravel the mystery behind their extraordinary romance knowing that their quest may destroy the link that has allowed them to fall in love.

    The Lake House tells the story of a romance between two people living in different times, tackling themes of love and fate. Kate and Alex are the tenants of the Lake House, living two years apart, but will they ever be able to ever meet for real? The first film to reunite Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves since the mightily successful Speed, the Lake House shows just how much of a mistake this coupling was. The charisma that they may have had in the past seems to have fizzled out completely in this dull and sappy romance. The setting is certainly beautiful and for easily pleased lovers of romantic films then this is probably your cup of tea but for anyone else this is a pretty uninspiring watch.
