Synopsis

Jane Fonda stars as a tough call girl - the role for which she won her first Academy Award in this suspenseful and gritty mystery.

When small town police detective John Klute (Donald Sutherland) comes to New York to investigate the disappearance of his best friend, his only lead is a letter to prostitute Bree Daniels (Fonda). As these two very different people discover a romantic attraction to each other, Klute realizes Daniels is the murderer's real target.

    1970's Thriller featuring Jane Fonda as a femme fatale. Fonda plays Bree Daniels, a call girl named who is blackmailed by small-town detective John Klute as he needs her help in an investigation in to the disappearance of his friend. The two fall for each other it but it seems that Daniels is in danger of a serious stalker. Klute brilliantly combines moments of tension and unease with a powerful romance, and it's a thriller which has a huge impact upon the viewer. Great acting, a script full of suspense, and a touching love story all make Klute a film well worth watching.
