An 80s cult classic

'Little Shop of Horrors' is a musical story about a blood-drinking plant that grows and grows until it talks, sings and eventually attempts to take over the world. A mad and ridiculous concept you say? Well, it certainly is but this film has gained cult status over the years and has little competition in the rather unique sci-fi, horror, comedy, musical genre. While the storyline, set and effects are all laughable, 'Little Shop of Horrors' never intends to be taken seriously - it is a comedy at heart. The main highlight of the film is the brilliant cameo roles by Bill Murray, John Candy, Christopher Guest and the superb Steve Martin (remember when he used to be funny?). It is rather slow and annoying at times but once you have time to get over the absurd plot, this movie has something to offer for everyone and is a good dose of harmless fun.
