A remake of The Poseidon adventure, Poseidon is a disaster movie centred around the struggle for survival on a luxury cruise ship. After the boat is overturned by a freak wave, a few determined people decide to climb to the ship's hull in a desperate attempt to find a way out of the flooding ship. But can they make it out in time? Well you'd think that with a story like that Poseidon would have action enough to entertain its audience. Sadly this is not the case. While Poseidon does deliver cheap thrills, overblown effects and some rather epic moments it doesn't look very likely that Poseidon will stand the test of time. The glamorous effects can't compensate for the lack of a good script or an emotional impact, and the cheesy acting. It entertains but in a mindless way, and beyond it looking as expensive as it cost, Poseidon doesn't have much left to offer…
